"Know Thyself"

So who am I? Well in the grand scheme of things it doesn´t matter‚ time and tide wait for no man‚ only our work and children can sail the waves of the future. All that really matters is what to do with the time that is given to us. However perhaps that is a little too deep to begin with. No first I´ll start with some underlying attributes that have shaped who I am.

First and foremost I am a Piscean with a Scorpio ascendant sign‚ these constitute my fathomlessly deep nature. Often distracted by daydreams I spend much of my time contemplating the stars.

Its amazing how little people really know about themselves apart from the banalities of hobby‚ taste‚ and habit. Some people are so hopelessly dependant on possession‚ ego and the social pecking order they find themselves numb from the inside out‚ reluctant or unable to journey inward‚ to consult feeling and emotion. Know thyself‚ and through the following become familiar with me.
At a party you may find me at the corner table quietly observing the crowd‚ if I find the topic of conversation interesting I will be quick to join and offer my honest opinion‚ listening well to others I am easy to confide in. However I find pack behaviour exacerbating and will not conform to idle banter for the sake of establishing ego in a social setting‚ and so will return to my corner table just as easily. – In a debate I am not the one fighting to be heard the loudest‚ but the timed voice offering calculated and unintrusive suggestion.
Height: around 5´6″ – not the tallest man in the world but there are others shorter than me.
Hair: wavy brown and fairly long (chin length) – often the subject of controversy.
Eyes: my most favoured feature‚ I have sea blue eyes deep with character.
Build: Changeable but resembles perhaps an athletic build (without the associated healthy traits)

Music: Music tastes vary from Easy Listening and Chillout to Metal‚ all driven of course by how I feel. At the moment I have been listening to deep Chillout music‚ slow acoustics and resonant electric beats. Olive‚ Enigma‚ some Moby‚ and Goldfrapp to name a few. I enjoy Easy Listening‚ Folk and Blues – artists such as Emiliana Torrini‚ Eva Cassidy and Katie Melua (Alex Parks). Celtic music is important to me‚ Clannad‚ Enya‚ The Corrs‚ U2 and Sinead O´Connor are great. Can´t exclude Pink Floyd‚ Dire Straits‚ Deep Purple‚ Megadeath‚ System Of A Down‚ Audioslave‚ Ministry.

Movies: I really enjoy switching off to a good film. Loving J.R.R. Tolkien‚ my life was obviously changed with Peter Jackson´s Lord Of The Rings. Right now director M Night Shyamalan seems really tapped‚ his film Lady In The Water is a masterpiece‚ so subtle and emotionally rich. Was impressed with The Brave One‚ though I didn´t immediately appreciate its style. Films like Secret Window‚ The Ninth Gate‚ Cypher‚ Cube (1‚2‚3)‚ One Hour Photo and The Night Listener are excellent and thought provoking. I enjoy films like Eternal Sunshine Of A Spotless Mind‚ Stranger Than Fiction‚ Meet Joe Black. Psychological thrillers with a good killer (no pun intended) have always intrigued me‚ Silence Of The Lambs‚ Red Dragon‚ Hannibal (not Hanibal Rising) being top of my list. I was impressed with Saw´s Jigsaw character‚ presenting very interesting morals and motives. Equally clever but less horror focused films such as Fracture and Machinist are also on my list. Finally‚ going back to the more emotional style films‚ I enjoy Spirited Away‚ Howls Moving Castle and other good anima pieces.

To some I come across shy, perhaps a little withdrawn and maybe too mysterious for my own good. But I’m a free spirit, and inject humour into all appropriate situations. I fight against conformity, and believe the common system to be wrong. I like nature, the sky, the wind and water.
